Under The Plum Tree
A Baby
Book for Babies with Special Needs
for birth to age one
Created
by Jo Mach and Lisa Beaver
Artist: Ginny Meserve
A unique baby book for family
and friends. Each page was lovingly created to capture in journal
form the first year life experiences of babies with special
needs.
Inspired by one very wonderful and
spirited little girl and a poem by Diana West, "Just One
Tree," in which she compares the journey of a child with a
disability with the planting of a plum tree: "though small
and sturdy (it) is the symbol of courage in the face of life's
uncertainty."

Written by a mother of a baby with
special needs and a pediatric occupational therapist,
UNDER THE PLUM TREE was designed to support parents bringing their child into the
family circle while meeting medical and developmental needs.
